T. Duffy comments-Site Planning by Kevin Lynch

This reading is very complete in explaining why good site analysis is important, and why there isn't a checklist of items to be gathered for the analysis. Frankly, I was kind of bored in the beginning, much of this seems like common sense. Also, it is obvious this was written a while ago, there is no mention of Google Earth, nor GIS.

I did enjoy the specific data on body comfort, specific heat, topography and air movement and windbreaks.

When reading the building orientation section, I am reminded of many sites I have visited where I think to myself, Why in the Hell did they put that structure there?

The best section, for me, was the discussion of noise, and the various levels of acceptable noise.
